Highland Division - Liverpool Poor Scouser Tommy Hoodie
So they put him in a highland division! Poor Scouser Tommy is one of Liverpool’s most unique and iconic songs that was being sung way before I first started going to Anfield over 20 years ago and still does Today. (Although it seems to get sung faster and faster every year!) It tells the story of a Liverpudlian declaring his love for Liverpool with his dying breaths. Some might think it a strange topic for a football chant but with Liverpool’s famous Kop end being named after the Battle of Spion Kop, I think it’s actually quite fitting. The song inspired us to put this Poor Scouser Tommy Hoodie together, with a subtle reference to Tommy’s Highland Division, and the year 1906 for the founding of the Spion Kop at Anfield. Oh, I am a Liverpudlian, I come from the Spion Kop!
